Pour a gypsy-style tango, a spicy Latin groove and original French lyrics into the same song and you’ll discover the pan-cultural cocktail sound of Bronwen Beecher, the Fiddle Preacher and accordion player, Steven Keen.

 

Based in Salt Lake City, Bronwen and Steve individually have decades of experience with a wide variety of musical styles so when they came together in 2015, the French Musettes, Klezmer dance tunes, Celtic, Greek and Hungarian tunes all came together with excitement and ease. Bronwen's original songs naturally took on exotic colors and textures and an exquisite and seamless sound was born.

 

It’s not nearly enough to call Steve a “piano jazz professor.” What’s far more interesting about him is his unmatched accordion skill and that he is absolutely captivated by all the traditional styles of music he has traversed. A studious academic with his own nerdy music blog and a tasteful collection of Hawaiian shirts, Steve is as down to earth as they come. Give ‘em a hot mug of coffee and a camping chair in the woods and he’s good. Yet, there is nothing “down to earth” and usual in the way he plays. Out comes this canvas of global music, some made for the "un-elite" classes, daring you to listen in. The jazz training turns into a palate of fascinating chords and colors that tell a story like you’ve never heard it
before.

 

With Bronwen's passionate vocals in English, Spanish and French, her exceptional violin and fiddle prowess and Steve's bold diversity of musical textures and moods, you'll find that Bronwen and Steve don't just accompany an event. They define it.

 

Bronwen and Steve are available for private and corporate events as well as concert series and festivals. For a bigger sound, drums, guitar and bass can be added.
